Company History

H20 Water Services was formed in 1996. Similar to Spice its holding company, H20 initial work was based on a single contract with a Yorkshire based utility.

H20 aligned its delivery to Yorkshire Water’s outsourcing strategy and secured a contract to deliver customer supplies and metering services accross the Yorkshire Region setting up depots in Barnsley and Beverley.

Since then it has developed the range of services it delivers to meet customer demand and priorities.

H20 has now worked with most of the major water companies delivering one off specialist contracts, major Framework Agreements and resource support for  special projects.

In 2003, H20 was acquired by Spice Plc, an AIM listed  company under Support Services. Spice is also based in Yorkshire and now H20 and Spice share the Head Office location in Morley, Leeds.

Spice has acquired other water businesses (Atlantic Water and Kemac Services) which have now been merged into the single H20 business.

H20’s primary growth area has been focused on Water Meter Services providing billing services, meter reading, meter installations, exchange and maintenance. We now install over 250,000 meters per annum.

In 2006 recognising the demand for Leakage Engineers, a Leakage Detection and Water Efficiency division was formed. We are now providing specialist services to many water companies including Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water, Essex & Suffolk Water and South Staffordshire Water. Our services are also in demand overseas and recent project involvement includes a major project in Egypt.

Our growth has been based on service and value for money. In 2006/7 we re-secured all our major contracts with extended scope and value. Our reputation has lead to new contract wins with Thames Water, Three Valleys Water and Anglian Water. Our turnover projection for 2008 is £67m a rise of 48%.
